It’s that time of year again where fall sports invade AMS.  The anticipation has been insane since last fall with all fall athletic sports doing very well.  Student athletes from the 7th and 8th grade at Anna Middle School are showing off their talents.  This week marks the true first week of games and events.  AMS Yearbook Media wanted to interview some coaches and athletes to see what they had to say about their offseason and practices leading up to week one of athletic play.

Jay H. (7th Grade A Team QB) got with the yearbook team and said “ What's motivating to us this season is to be the best team on Highway 5 by beating Melissa and Van Alstyne, and said practices have gone better than expected. We’re definitely motivated that it’s going to be a great season!”

AMS 8th Grade nose tackle Gabe B. also got with the yearbook team and said “I’ve contributed to the team by blocking the defense when I’m on offense and getting off the ball and getting through the line on defense.” Gabe also says “Practices have gone good, and the team seems to be coming together very well.

The football coach this year for both grades at AMS is Coach Curtis Hightower. Coach had a lot of positive things to say about this upcoming season. Coach said “The atmosphere in the locker room and practice has been a great vibe to be around and the practices have been very upbeat this season. Coach then later on said “Our goal this season is to develop as a team and is looking forward to getting the student athletes into the high school ranks!”
