cheer camp 2019The Anna Middle School 7th and 8th grade cheer teams went to the NCA camp at SMU last week and had an extremely successful camp. Both teams received several ribbons and the Stunt Safe and NFHS certifications, as well as earning Spirit Sticks. Additionally, the teams brought home AMS's first ever trophies for cheer in only their second year at camp. The 7th grade team brought home the top team in the Middle School Champion Chant category, and the 8th grade team was named the Most Improved team at camp from all divisions, including middle school, JV, and Varsity.

Most excitingly, AMS had the most individuals ever nominated for individual All-American from AMS, including an entire stunt group nominated for elite level skills. Chloe Chandler, Carley McEneany, Malechi Fornof, Kinsley Taylor, Karleigh Redwine, Makayla Powell, Ava Harmeier, Evelyn Conrey, Laurie Bramblett, D'Yonne Hatter, and Savannah Wildman were nominated for cheer, and Claire Bibb was nominated as a mascot. Both Makayla Powell and Claire Bibb earned the prestigious All-American title. We are extremely proud of these teams.
