GT Field TripOn November 2, 2016, Anna Middle School GT students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade attended a field trip to The National Videogame Museum in Frisco, Texas. This trip was an excellent opportunity for the students to see first hand the advancements in technology over the last 40 years. This cross curricular experience showcased STEM skills, artistic expression, history, and even lessons on marketing and economics. Throughout the year we will be using the information we gathered to take a closer look at several big ideas. Some of our guiding questions were: What skills does a video game programmer need to have, to be successful? How does the global economy affect the industry? How has the gaming industry effected technology advancements in other fields. What can we expect in the future?   After the museum, the students went to a local park and participated in group games and team building activities designed to help build communication and collaboration skills. The trip was a blast and everyone learned a lot!
