The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) is an honor society that recognizes top academic achievers from high schools around the world. Its mission is to recognize academic excellence among high school students and to encourage members to apply their unique talents, vision, and potential for the betterment of themselves and the world.

NSHSS gives its high school members the opportunity to acknowledge one high school teacher, counselor or administrator who has made the most significant contribution to their academic career by nominating them as an Educator of Distinction. Nominations are accepted year-round.  Since the program began in 2007, more than 40,000 educators have been recognized worldwide. This year, one of our very own AMS teachers, Mr. Hubert Jones, was one of the teachers in the state of Texas awarded the "Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction" award. Educators of Distinction are outstanding role models and exemplary practitioners who have made a lasting difference in a student's life by encouraging them to strive for excellence, not just in their academic pursuits, but in all their endeavors.  Congratulations Mr. Jones!
