Anna ISD Secondary Schools transform libraries to meet future ready skills.

This year Anna Middle School’s library is getting revitalized and will now be known as the “D.E.N.” This clever acronym stands for Discover, Engage, and Network. Emily Burk and Ellen Peeples are partnered together to help students develop research skills, facilitate lessons on digital citizenship, and a multitude of other things. With Burk staying at the high school and Peeples going to build up the middle school.

Along with joining fun book clubs, students will also be able to access tools such as college application help to a virtual directory that walks them through whatever stage of  the learning process that they are in. Anna Middle School is excited to open up D.E.N for the students and expand on the resources offered in a traditional ‘library.’ You can follow the Anna High and Middle School D.E.N.'s on Twitter @AHS_Coyote_DEN and @AMS_Coyote_DEN to see the progress made in the spaces, keep up with the activities occurring, and learn about events hosted by the Secondary School Chief Innovation Officers of Library Services!
